About the role
The Clinical Nurse is a registered nurse who is accountable for practice at an advanced level, working collaboratively within the unit and with other members of the health care team including consumers/carers, other health professionals, general practitioners and other agencies (including non-Government agencies). This role provides the delivery of clinical care and support specific to Primary Health Care within a Correctional or Detention setting.
The Clinical Nurse - Prison Health Services provides contemporary clinical leadership and care within a specific area supporting the general function of the unit through the application of best practice principles, education, leadership and portfolio management in the application and role modelling of professional nursing practice standards in accordance with the Nursing and Midwifery Board Australia (NMBA).

About you

Our ideal candidate will be someone who can demonstrate the following:

• This role reports professionally to the Nurse Unit
• This role reports operationally to the Nurse Unit
• This position may have shift supervisory responsibility for registered nurses, enrolled nurses or unregulated healthcare
• This role has no direct financial and human resource delegations in accordance with WMH Financial Sub Delegations Register and Human Resource Sub-Delegations

MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS:

• Vaccinated against, and remain vaccinated against, certain vaccine preventable diseases (VPD) as outlined in the Health Employment Directive NO. 01/16
• Appointment to this position requires proof of qualification and registration or membership with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency. Certified copies of the required information must be provided to the appropriate supervisor/manager, prior to the commencement of clinical
