Your role Join our team as a Clinical Nurse Researcher at Murdoch Hospital, where you’ll play a key role in promoting and supporting ethical, high-quality, and compliant clinical research. You’ll use your research and governance expertise to mentor, educate, and guide caregivers in their research activities, ensuring alignment with AHPRA standards, Good Clinical Practice (GCP) guidelines, and the National Clinical Trials Governance Framework (NCGTGF). The position will be offered as a fixed-term, part-time role for five months, commencing in February 2026. Working Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday, 22.8 hours per week, you will be part of a dedicated and supportive team. The Position Responsible for monitoring the Murdoch Research Governance email account, including delegation of new enquiries and submissions requiring pre-authorisation to the Research Operations Manager. Responsible for reviewing and coordinating approval by relevant Departments and Service Providers, review by the Murdoch Research Governance Committee, and final site approval of all Site Specific Assessment (SSA) submissions for new research projects. Assist in the development and implementation of caregiver research projects. Assist with literature searches to support development of research questions and proposals. Assist with the development and preparation of all aspects of human research ethics committee (HREC) applications including patient information and consent forms. Assist with data entry and the management of databases including the Murdoch Research Database. Assist with the completion of grant applications. Assist with the preparation and writing of research activity reports e.g. annual HREC and biennial research reports. Manage confidential study documentation. Assists with the preparation and submission of journal manuscripts. Attend relevant research meetings. Responsible for the preparation of Agendas, recording, transcription and dissemination of Murdoch Research Committee Minutes and others as required. Assist the Quality & Risk Department with quality improvement (QI) projects as required. Assist with preparation and submission of Low Risk, Minimal Risk, and QI Ethics Applications. You will assist with preparation and submission of Low Risk, Minimal Risk, and QI Ethics Applications. Working collaboratively with our multi-disciplinary healthcare team, you will bring strong scholarly writing skills, with the ability to prepare high-quality reports and manuscripts grounded in evidence-based practice. Your ability to perform, evaluate, and critique literature searches using electronic databases will support the delivery of robust, well-informed research outcomes. To be successful you will be registered with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse, hold current Good Clinical Practice (GCP) certification, and possess sound knowledge of clinical and regulatory frameworks governing clinical research.
