The Community Specialist Palliative Care Home Team (SPCHT) at Arthur Rank Hospice Charity supports patients with life limiting conditions across Cambridgeshire. Supported by the wider multi-disciplinary team at the Hospice, the SPCHT ensures that our care is holistic and tailored to each individual’s personal situation.
Due to retirement, we have an opportunity for someone to join this team as a Clinical Nurse Specialist, this is a part time role working 30 hours per week, supporting patients across Cambridgeshire in a Community setting. This role will have a working pattern which includes weekend and bank holiday shifts, to meet the needs of the service.
Our Clinical Nurse Specialists deliver expert care and support to specialist palliative and end of life patients and their families/carers. Working closely with other care providers our team will help manage symptoms, support with medicine management and help access other hospice services, such as complementary therapy.
The service runs 7 days a week and colleagues will join us and work on a rota basis to support this.
Main duties will include:
To be successful in this role you will be a Registered General Nurse with a Post-registration qualification in cancer/palliative care, or long-term conditions (or a willingness to work toward this.)
It’s essential to have experience delivering specialist palliative care in a multi professional environment, along with experience of teaching.
Due to the nature of the role it’s a requirement to hold a valid driving license and have access to a vehicle for work purposes.
This post is subject to an Enhanced DBS Check with Child and Adult Barred lists.
Starting salary of £47,810, with opportunities to progress to £54,710.
