POSITION SUMMARY

The Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) is an advanced practice nurse who combines expert clinical skills with leadership in teaching, mentoring, consulting, research, and systems improvement. In this role, you will influence patient outcomes by providing expert consultation to care providers, driving quality improvement initiatives, and advancing evidence-based practice in your specialty area.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master’s, Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP), or Ph.D. from a CNS-accredited program (CCNE or NLNAC), or equivalent education/experience.
  • Washington State Registered Nurse (RN) license upon hire.
  • BLS certification from the American Heart Association upon hire.
  • Minimum 3 years of RN experience in specialty area.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Current CNS certification upon hire.
  • Specialty certification in area of clinical focus.
  • 2 years of clinical leadership experience.
Responsibilities
  • Provide expert clinical consultation and guidance to nursing staff and interdisciplinary teams.
  • Lead quality improvement and evidence-based practice initiatives within the specialty area.
  • Mentor and educate nursing staff to advance clinical expertise and professional development.
