Description
Responsibilities
The CNS (Children’s Haematology/Oncology) will be responsible for a clinical caseload in the area of malignancy haematology/oncology in the Paediatric unit
Be a resource for colleagues, allied professionals, and an advocate for the patient and ensure competence in area of speciality practice.
Be responsible for the provision of nursing, education and management consultation in the haematology/Oncology service.
Provide a service, which optimises quality and continuity of care for patients in the Haematology/Oncology service.
Provide a programme of education and training for the multidisciplinary staff, which benefits children and their parents.
To co-ordinate and facilitate routine and emergency admissions to the Paediatric unit.
To co-ordinate and facilitate the discharge of patients from the paediatric unit.
Liaise with Staff from the Haematology/Oncology unit OLCHC to organise the administration of treatment (e.g., Chemotherapy, GCSF, blood transfusion and other medication and procedures) in the Paediatric unit Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital (OLOLH) for children with Haematology and Oncology disorders.
Link closely with the Shared Care manager OLCHC in order to provide a seamless service to OLOLH shared care centre
