ABOUT THE ROLE

Canterbury Hospital is committed to providing high quality healthcare services to our local community, focused on patient and family-centred care.
The purpose of the Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) position is to provide senior nursing clinical leadership in the development of specialist clinical practice and service delivery within a nursing unit, team or service.
The CNS employs advanced clinical skills and exercises extended autonomy of decision-making working closely with managers and other senior clinicians.
The ORP service is designed to bridge the gap between acute fracture care and the long-term management of osteoporosis.
The role of the ORP service is to ensure that all patients aged over 50 years who present with a fragility fracture receive comprehensive care: systematically identified, assessed, and treated to reduce the risk of a subsequent fracture evaluation and treatment.
The CNS 2 will also be required to support general rheumatology services providing patient education and self-management support especially for those patients requiring advanced rheumatological therapies including biologics.
