The Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) for Integrated Violence Abuse and Neglect Services (IVANS), using best practice evidence provides person-centred specialist nursing care at an advanced practice level for the designated speciality in collaboration with individual/s and the multidisciplinary health care team. Provides clinical leadership, support, and supervision for less experienced clinicians to achieve people focused quality care.
The primary purpose of the CNS – IVANS position is to provide medical and forensic responses and health care (within scope of practice) to people who have experienced violence, abuse, and neglect. This includes providing integrated crisis responses, non-acute clinical care, and follow up medical care and health care navigation.
