1.    Education:  Current Arkansas Licensure as a Registered Nurse.       2.    Training and Experience:      Two to five years of clinical nursing experience with expertise in designated clinical area.  Prior experience as nursing supervisor or leadership role such as charge nurse etc. strongly preferred.  Demonstrated leadership abilities and excellent communication skills. Should be knowledgeable in nursing orientation/education.  Must be ACLS, CPR certified. 3.    Job Knowledge:   Working knowledge of clinical nursing practice.  Basic knowledge of human resource regulations, nursing education, nursing orientation, staffing, and supervisory responsibilities. 4.    Safety Sensitive:   YES In the interest of protecting the health and safety of all patients, associates, and guests, Unity Health has classified some positions as “safety sensitive.”  A “safety sensitive” position is any job position in which impaired performance could result in harm to the health and/or safety of self or others. DESCRIPTION: Accountable for overall quality of patient care delivered.  Responsible for providing leadership and direction to nursing staff.  Functions in nurse manager role in his/her absence. Directs the development of orientees. Performs floor nursing as needed. Job Hazards:  Minimal degree of contracting disease if proper technique is followed.  Accidental hazards are almost nil if policies and procedures are followed and safety precautions in the hospital are observed.
