You will experience different aspects of the entire patient surgical journey for babies, children and adolescents, which is both exciting and extremely rewarding within a fast pace environment.
Focusing on compassionate and age-appropriate care for children, in a range of surgical specialities, including general surgery, orthopaedics, and ENT, you will have commitment to creating a comfortable environment for both the child and their family. You will provide perioperative care, which includes pre-surgery, in-theatre, and post-surgery support.
At St John of God Murdoch, we have 18 main operating theatres, an angio suite, endoscopy unit and Surgicentre. You’ll be exposed to the latest in surgical technology, including robotics, and work with some of the highest calibre surgeons in Australia who are usually based onsite in our consulting suites.
Our Clinical Command Centre is the hub that oils the theatre machine, with information feeding into and out of a central location to co-ordinate patient flow, equipment and available beds in recovery and on the wards. Our super-organised CCC Team know exactly where patients are up to on their theatre journey at all times.
This position will be offered on a permanent part-time basis and require you to be available every Tuesday, Wednesday and alternative Thursday/Friday to cover paediatric theatre lists.

You will have demonstrated strong leadership ability, working collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary environment with well-developed skills in communication, conflict resolution, negotiation and problem solving.
To succeed you will hold registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse with a commitment to ongoing education and professional development. Post registration experience in a perioperative care setting, with experience and competency in Paediatrics will be highly regarded.
Above all, patient care will be at the core of everything you do committing to and supporting our Mission and Values.
