Responsibilities:
The Clinical Onboarding Specialist effectively manages the onboarding process to successfully integrate a clinician into a new position by managing them through the onboarding process. This includes the intake process, and follow-up to ensure clinician is cleared to start on proposed target start date.
- Serve as the initial point of contact for the practice/region and initiate appropriate notifications and steps as required for successful clinician integration.
- Establishes and maintains a positive relationship with each clinician throughout their onboarding and provides a detailed overview of the process, expectations, timelines and required documents, signatures, and tasks.
- Collaborate with internal Privileging team on status of hospital privileging applications for new and existing clinicians and communicate updates with clinicians as needed.
- Maintain and update applicant tracking system and credentialing database with status and necessary data elements.
- Document all tasks, phone calls, emails and other forms of communication during the credentialing process in the database.
- Escalate all issues to the appropriate members of the management staff, region, and/or team members as necessary.
- Coordinates between the clinician and the organization/practice and ensures compliance and successful integration.
- Designs and develops day-to-day solutions by providing expert counsel and accurate/timely information to the business.
- Reviews and monitors the onboarding timeline and tracks the clinician status to ensure onboarding steps are coordinated and appropriately communicated to all departments within the committed timeframe.
- Expedites all incoming questions/problems generated by the clinician in the onboarding process.
- Investigates and attempts resolution of communication or process issues affecting the onboarding of the clinician or the requirements of applicable departments.
- Participates in divisional huddles meetings.
- Identifies, recommends, and implements onboarding process changes as opportunities for improvement.
- Provides cumulative status reports to the Medical Director and Practice Associate Vice President on all components of the onboarding process.
- Updates appropriate systems to ensure proper tracking, reporting and communication.
- Closes out all components of the new hire integration including but not limited to reimbursement of onboarding expenses, and submission of final hire paperwork.
- Perform other duties as assigned or requested.
Qualifications:
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university; or 1-2 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- 1-2 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Experience with Medical processes (credentialing and privileges)
