The Nursing Operations Manager ensures staffing stability and operational efficiency across the full continuum of care—including assisted living, sheltered care, and skilled nursing—by owning nursing workforce operations, scheduling outcomes, and administrative execution. By reallocating staffing and administrative responsibilities from clinical leaders to the Nursing Operations Manager, the role enables the organization to deliver safer, more consistent care while controlling labor costs and supporting staff retention. Schedule: Full-time| Monday-Friday with some flexibility on start time. Wage: $75,000-$80,000 annually Responsibilities: Staffing ownership Owns staffing outcomes: coverage, OT and agency usage Sets staffing targets and expectations by unit and shift Reviews staffing effectiveness daily/weekly with Nurse Scheduler Oversight of Nurse Scheduler Works closely with Scheduler on: Staffing grids and templates Call-off response strategies Overtime minimization Agency utilization decisions New hire compliance Approves escalation decisions Workforce operations Proactively monitor attendance and staffing trends to support workforce stability and reduce avoidable turnover Provide front-line coaching and guidance to promote reliability, consistency, and employee success, partnering with HR as needed Coordinate interviews, meetings, and performance review schedules to ensure a strong and supportive employee experience Provide administrative support for IDPH surveys and the Director of Clinical Services, allowing nursing leadership to focus on quality care and staff engagement Oversee medical records operations and the ordering of clinical supplies, ensuring efficient systems that support staff effectiveness and resident care Supplies, vendors, and invoices Nursing supplies and equipment ordering Vendor relationships and invoice approvals Budget monitoring and cost controls Operational reporting Produce staffing, turnover and cost dashboards for leadership Requirements · Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, business, HR, or related field preferred · 3–5 years of experience in healthcare operations or nursing workforce management · Demonstrated experience with staffing, scheduling, call-off management, and labor cost control · Long-term care or skilled nursing experience strongly preferred · Strong working knowledge of attendance management, progressive discipline, and workforce analytics · Strong technology aptitude, including proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and workforce scheduling, timekeeping, and reporting systems.
