Schedule: Full Time Shift: Days Location: 601 East Rollins Street Orlando, FL 32803 The community you’ll be caring for: AdventHealth Orlando Located on a lush tropical campus, our flagship hospital, 1,368-bed AdventHealth Orlando Serves as the major tertiary facility for much of the Southeast, the Caribbean and South America AdventHealth Orlando houses one of the largest Emergency Departments and largest cardiac catheterization labs in the country We are already one of the busiest hospitals in the nation, providing service excellence to more than 32,000 inpatients and 125,000 outpatients each year The role you’ll contribute: The Clinical Pharmacist supports the mission of the department, hospital, and health-system by preventing, identifying, and resolving medication use issues to assure patient safety, improve patient satisfaction, optimize patient outcomes, and minimize costs. The role involves working in both centralized and decentralized areas, performing all functions of a registered pharmacist including accurate and timely dispensing, clinical interactions with patients and the healthcare team, and technician supervision. This position is responsible for developing and providing clinical pharmacy services to the general patient population, supervising pharmacy technicians to ensure correct and timely medication dispensing and ensuring medication therapies are appropriate for patients based on a variety of factors. Additionally, the Clinical Pharmacist interprets prescriptions and medication orders, acts as a drug information resource, compounds and dispenses prescribed medications, and participates in patient care rounds and medication management. Responsibilities also include assisting with the daily operation of the pharmacy department, participating in performance improvement activities, educating staff, managing adverse drug events, participating in quality improvement initiatives, ensuring compliance with regulations, and engaging in continuous professional development. The role requires collaboration with healthcare teams to ensure the safe and effective use of medications and maintain efficient pharmacy operations. Provide safe, timely, and cost-effective medication therapy; actively participate in stewardship, surveillance, and restricted-use programs. Supervise, mentor, and evaluate pharmacy technicians, interns, students, and residents; support team learning and development.
