Clinical Pharmacist – Oncology Job Summary We are seeking a licensed New Jersey Pharmacist to support our oncology and specialty physician dispensary. This role is ideal for a pharmacist who values clinical oversight, regulatory compliance, and close collaboration with medical providers to deliver safe, efficient, patient-centered care. The position is a clinical pharmacist role within Atlantic Medical Group (AMG), providing dedicated support for specialty dispensary operations. The pharmacist will also offer clinical and operational support to PAMG practices and hospital-based infusion services, working collaboratively to ensure coordinated medication management across multiple sites and throughout the patient treatment journey. This position is employed by Atlantic Health System. Key Responsibilities Evaluate and review patient medication profiles to ensure safe, effective, and appropriate therapy for oncology and specialty medications Prepare, verify, and dispense medications in accordance with physician orders, clinical standards, institutional policies, and New Jersey regulatory requirements Monitor, document, and report medication safety issues, adverse drug events, and therapy outcomes using patient-specific criteria and current clinical guidelines Provide oversight, direction, and supervision of pharmacy technicians in compliance with state and federal regulations Ensure proper medication storage, handling, inventory control, and accurate documentation for specialty and oncology therapies Collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, and clinical staff to support coordinated care and continuity across the treatment pathway Participate in clinical initiatives focused on medication stewardship, cost-effective therapy optimization, quality improvement, and patient experience Support onboarding, training, and ongoing education of pharmacists and pharmacy technicians Contribute to medication-management–related projects, safety initiatives, and operational improvements as assigned Atlantic Medical Group is a physician-led and physician-governed organization that delivers the highest quality health care, at the right place, the right price, and the right time. At Morristown Medical Center and Newton Medical Center we have full-service retail pharmacies. They provide prescription medication services to patients and the local community in a convenient location on the first floor of the hospital, inside the Corner Store Gift Shop at Morristown and behind the coffee shop at Newton adjacent to the main entrance. A convenient service provided in our retail pharmacies is having your prescriptions you receive at discharge filled and ready for pick-up before you leave to go home. That means the discharge process will be a little easier for you and your family or friends since there is no need to stop at your retail pharmacy on the way home. The Pharmacy Department also works with physicians and nurses to ensure that medications used at Atlantic Health System are safe and effective. Pharmacists are integrated into your care teams to provide real time medication information and help you get the most benefit from your medications.
Responsibilities
