Description
Description Staff pharmacists fill orders for medications, monitor patient medication therapies, and provide drug information. Staff pharmacists supervise and direct support personnel. In the absence of the Pharmacy manager, a staff pharmacist may be required to assume the essential responsibilities and perform the duties of the pharmacy manager. Shift: First shift, every 4th weekend, rotating holidays Requirements Licensed as a Pharmacist by the North Carolina Board of Pharmacy. Graduate of ACPE-accredited school of pharmacy. Pharm. D. preferred. Hospital experience preferred, but not required. Repetitive use of hands and fingers (e.g. preparing IV admixtures, use of computer). Must possess full range of body motion to pass basic FIT test for position to include stooping and kneeling; sitting, walking, or standing for extended periods of time. Must be able to lift and carry loads (up to 50 pounds); Must be able to operate equipment used for the job. Ability to work independently with minimal direct supervision. Ability to handle frequent interruptions and adapt to changes in workload and work schedules. Ability to exercise sound professional judgment, set priorities, make critical decisions, and respond quickly to emergency requests. Ability to meet the pharmaceutical care needs of pediatric, adult, geriatric, and skilled nursing patients. Potential for exposure to infectious patients or materials, hazardous and toxic substances. Potential for sticks or cuts by needles and other sharp items.
Responsibilities
