OPPORTUNITY TCCH is growing and actively recruiting Clinical Pharmacy Technicians to join our Care Teams at our multiple clinic site. Under the direct supervision of the Pharmacy Clinical Coordinator, Pharmacy Director, and/or Pharmacist on duty, the Clinical Pharmacy Technician will perform a variety of duties as permitted under WA State law and within the technicians’ scope of practice. The Clinical Pharmacy Technician assists Clinical Pharmacists in completing projects as assigned, playing an indispensable role in ensuring the seamless operations and quality care our patients have come to expect from Tri-Cities Community Health! FUNCTIONS Provide support to the Clinical Pharmacist and/or pharmacist on duty Assist with scheduling patients for clinical pharmacist appointments, including confirmation calls and contacting no-shows Assist with documentation of referrals to clinical pharmacy Assist with prior authorizations and insurance coverage questions At the direction of the clinical pharmacist, communicate with patients regarding lab results, medications, and other items related to the patient’s plan of care Interview patients thoroughly and reconcile medications and allergies appropriately Upload data to the electronic health record Work up patients prior to appointments with clinical pharmacist to identify gaps in care and other areas for support for the clinical pharmacist Run various reports pertinent to clinical pharmacy initiatives and address them as appropriate Complete quality improvement initiative projects as directed by Pharmacy Clinical Coordinator or other pharmacist at TCCH Complete medication therapy management tasks within scope Communicate with patients regarding their medications, coordinate the timely filling of medications, and forward to the appropriate party if the patient has further needs or questions Maintain assigned work areas and equipment in clean and orderly condition Manage routine phone calls, faxes, and/or emails Communicate effectively with patients, coworkers, and community members Demonstrate respect and regard for the dignity of all patients, family members, visitors, and fellow employees to ensure a professional, responsible, and courteous environment Promote positive working relations and work effectively as part of a team to facilitate goals and objectives Thoroughly process a prescription from start to finish Operate POS system and related front counter objectives according to pharmacy procedures Accurately count, pour, and stock bottles for individual prescriptions, applying correct labels and ensuring compliant packaging Reconstitute medications by addition of a specific quantity of distilled water, ethanol, isopropyl alcohol or provided diluent requiring no calculation Accurately enter patient demographics, billing information, and prescription date into software from faxed, e-prescribed, or written prescriptions Accurately bill private insurance, Medicaid, and 340b claims following appropriate procedures for each Prepare completed prescriptions for shipping or delivery according to pharmacy guidelines Carry out all other duties within scope as assigned by Pharmacy Clinical Coordinator, Pharmacy Director, or other pharmacist on staff at TCCH SCHEDULE / LOCATION Full time Monday-Friday, 8am to 5pm Pasco Primary Care and Pharmacy site – 515 W Court St, Pasco, WA 99301 Float responsibilities between other Pharmacy locations in Kennewick and Richland WAGE / STATUS $25.40-$28.60/hour; up to $32.85/hour This is a Union / Bargaining Unit position, non-exempt BENEFITS AND WELL-BEING A Monday to Friday schedule for creating a healthy work-life balance Competitive pay for highly qualified individuals (you!) Requirements Education: HS Diploma/GED required. Experience: 1-year experience in a pharmacy as a Pharmacy Technician License/Credential: Current Washington State Pharmacy Technician certification in good standing. National Certification preferred. Current Driver's License and vehicle insurance required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Bilingual (English/Spanish) language skills preferred. Working knowledge of pharmacy workflows and dispensing procedures. Ability to work varied shifts; Ability to occasionally work late to accommodate patient needs.
