(subject to review and approval) About the Role: Canberra Sexual Health Centre (CSHC) is based at the Canberra Hospital campus in Garran. CSHC provides sexual health and HIV care and is home to the Adult Gender Service (AGS) providing gender care to adults and adolescents aged 16 and over. The AGS has close links with the Paediatric Gender Service (PGS). The AGS is embedded in the Canberra Sexual Health Centre (CSHC). The purpose of this position is to deliver high level clinical services as part of the AGS and CSHC. Our new Allied Health Care Provider will work with a multidisciplinary team to assess, diagnose, and manage the mental wellbeing of adolescents >= 16 years and adults primarily seeking gender care but not exclusively since some of our patients have other sexual health conditions that affect their mental wellbeing. We are seeking a suitably qualified psychologist who is passionate in providing high level skilled clinical assessments, including WPATH assessments, and psychological interventions for individuals referred to the AGS, including working with families and supports. The role holder will actively contribute to the planning, development, and evaluation of client programs and services, as well as training to other staff and students as required. This role at the Canberra Sexual Health Centre, will see you provide skilled clinical assessments and interventions for individuals seeking gender care. You'll exercise your professional judgement, contribute to the development of client programs, and collaborate with external agencies to drive health promotion. With access to ongoing professional supervision and development, you'll also can participate in research, quality improvement activities, and the evaluation of policies and services, all within a supportive, multidisciplinary environment. 2-3 years relevant experience is required to be considered for this position at a Psychologist Level 3. To be considered for this position at a Psychologist 4 level you will have 5 years of experience in the profession, and should be able to demonstrate clinical leadership and professional supervision capabilities. You will be expected to initiate and evaluate service development through development of appropriate psychology programs.
