ABOUT THE ROLE
Applications are invited to join the Ageing Epidemiology (AGE) Research Unit in the School of Public Health. This post will be based at the Charing Cross and White City campuses, with frequent travel to Hammersmith Campus.
With a rapidly ageing population, age-related neurodegenerative diseases, such as Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s disease, are fast becoming a major focus of public health interest, leading to studies and interventions worldwide. This is an exciting opportunity to work within our clinical research team, providing vital support to our important longitudinal and prevention studies.
WHAT YOU WOULD BE DOING
You will fulfil an important role within the department, supporting the laboratory technician in providing a laboratory service for our clinical research team, and building a biobank for human fluid samples for population-based research projects on cognitive impairment and dementia. You will also have responsibility for day-to-day smooth running and maintenance of the laboratory, under the direction of the laboratory technician.
