Would you like to expand your clinical skills in a university research environment? Would you like to work regular hours, Monday to Friday, with no bank holidays and utilise your clinical experience? Here is a rare opportunity for an ambitious newly qualified nurse to develop their skills in clinical research.
A vacancy has arisen for an enthusiastic nurse, supported by a team of highly experienced research nurses, to work in the Clinical Research Unit (CRU) at the Oxford Centre for Diabetes, Endocrinology and Metabolism (OCDEM), Churchill Hospital. We will train you to become a clinical research nurse who will, in conjunction with the multidisciplinary team, facilitate the production of good quality research. The team will support you to discover your talents in the area of research including: venepuncture, cannulation, the administration of infusions, hyperglycemic clamps, as well as learning the set-up and delivery of leading-edge research.
The CRU is the hub of activity for translational research supported by the NIHR Biomedical Research Centre and its Theme on Metabolic Experimental Medicine research with clinical studies taking place in the unit encompassing a wide spectrum of research areas across diabetes, endocrinology and human metabolism.
You will be a registered general nurse with a genuine interest in developing specific skills to support our ongoing portfolio of clinical research studies. You will also be able to independently manage your workload and possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Competence in venepuncture and cannulation are desirable, although training will be given.
The vacancy is for a full-time position but part-time will be considered. This is based at OCDEM, Churchill Hospital, Oxford, OX3 7LE
