DESCRIPTION

Highbank AC is looking to recruit a clinical specialist neuro occupational therapist to join the team. This is a full time 37.5 hours role.
Based in Bury, Lancashire, Priory Highbank Centre is a neurorehabilitation service. It offers residential support for 15 males and females with an acquired brain injury (ABI), progressive neurological condition (PNC) and associated physical health needs.

Responsibilities

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

You will be part of a compassionate team who are committed to our residents wellbeing. We take a personalised approach, using proven therapies to help people move forward with confidence and build a healthier, more fulfilling future. As clinical specialist neuro occupational therapist, you will play a key part in their recovery, assisting qualified staff with the assessment and implementation of individual patient care plans, undertaking routine tasks and activities as directed or delegated to facilitate wellbeing, dignity and treatment of residents.

  • Carry out OT assessments to identify patient needs, before planning and delivering the appropriate interventions on either an individual or group basis.
  • Manage and co-ordinate individual OT treatment plans, facilitate groups and oversee the unit programmes.
  • Compose OT reports and attend multidisciplinary meetings.
  • Work as a key member of the multidisciplinary team for patient care and treatment.
  • Deliver supervision to Therapy Assistants where appropriate.

The post holder will be qualified and registered with HCPC with Specialist skill and experience of working with brain injuries in a mixture of physical, sensory, cognitive, emotional & psychological difficulties e.g. prolonged disorders of consciousness, acute and long term tracheostomy and ventilated dependency, although full training can be provided for the right candidate.
