Description:

The Radiology Department are looking for hard-working, enthusiastic individuals to join our amazing team.
The role is predominantly clinical with some administrative duties and involves working within a multi-disciplinary team on a 7-day rota.
As a Clinical Support Worker within our team, you will communicate with radiographers, radiologists and other members of the multi-professional team, regarding changes in the patient’s condition or any other useful information. You should possess cannulation skills or show willingness to train.
Effective communication with patients, carers and family is essential and the ability to seek support from the radiographer/radiologist when required.

Assisting Radiologist / Radiographer with a range of procedures including CT, MRI, Ultrasound and Fluoroscopy
Be familiar with the principles of radiographic technique
Ensure working area is clean and tidy
Prepare the examination room for complex techniques, this will include practising aseptic techniques and sterile trolley preparations
Prepare contrast media and iv preparations
Assist the radiologist with interventional and minor surgical techniques
Welcoming the patient, instructing them in the preparation and nature of their examination, responding to their personal needs
Reassure anxious and distressed patients and also those patients who have a physical or mental impairment
Maintain the basic nursing care of the patient
To assist with patients requiring more than one member of staff for transfers including the use of hoists and other patient handling equipment.
