JOB DESCRIPTION
To work 60/40 split between clinical work in General Medicine (across Respiratory, Cardiology, Neuroscience and Stroke, Care of the older adult, and General medicine) and undergraduate medical education.
To gain experience in general Medicine and encouraged to keep an up-to-date portfolio for ST applications. Interview practise and help with the portfolio is available, and the successful candidate will be encouraged to take part in audit and other projects.
This is not a recognised training post but provides an excellent opportunity to develop teaching and clinical skills as well as portfolio preparation. You will be fully supported to develop your portfolio, interview skills etc.
The post holders will help facilitate the delivery of the University of Plymouth undergraduate curriculum to year 3, 4 & 5 medical students at Musgrove Park Hospital.
ESSENTIAL
MANAGEMENT/ ADMINISTRATIVE EXPERIENCE
Willing and able to work with colleagues in management, nursing and other specialties to ensure the delivery of a high quality, safe and reliable service
Familiar with clinical governance
Proficient at Microsoft Teams, Excel, Powerpoint
This post will be 60% clinical and 40% undergraduate teaching. The post holder will either have:
1) Teaching duties for years 3,4 and 5 students from Peninsula Medical School in Somerset. You will be part of a clinical fellow team delivering planned sessions such as tutorials, clinical skills sessions, simulation based sessions and bedside clinical teaching.
2) The post holder will have teaching duties for helping teach and develop the foundation trainees at Musgrove Park, as well as support the induction and education of the International Medical Graduates. You will be part of a clinical fellow team delivering teaching, SIM, and QI/Portfolio support to the Foundation trainees.
