Inova Loudoun Hospital is looking for a dedicated Clinical Technician to join the team in our Intensive Care Unit. This role will be full time, day shift 7AM – 7:30PM. Three 12-hours shifts per week (days vary); Candidates must be available to work any day of the week when scheduled. Candidates must be able to attend a paid 6 week training period. We are also proud to be consistently recognized as a top employer in both the D.C. metro area and the nation *If you are interested in learning more about a day in the life of a clinical technician, please watch this video: Working As A Clinical Technician [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZCllUjNDPyo] (2 Mins) Job Responsibilities * Assists in the delivery of direct patient care under the supervision of the Registered Nurse. * Provides basic activities of daily living nursing care (e.g. bathing and feeding) and measurement of vital signs and intake/output. * Demonstrates competency in all required clinical skills and technologies in accordance with Inova Health System policies and procedures. * Completes assigned patient duties within the established time frame. * Demonstrates knowledge of growth and development in providing care for the patient population assigned. * Completes necessary documentation accurately and reinforces discharge teaching and home care skills. * Communicates changes in patient status to the Registered Nurse in a timely manner. * Partners with Registered Nurse to create a professional development plan to provide employee with the necessary skills to deliver up to date patient care. * Performs phlebotomy, starting and removing IV’s, and other clinical skills, which will be included in initial 6-weeks of training. * Performs additional duties as assigned. Shift: days (7am-7:30pm) Schedule: Three 12 hour shifts per week (with every other weekend rotation) Training: Candidate must be able to attend a 6-week training period, including virtual training sessions, classroom training days in Falls Church, VA (8:00am-4:30pm), and shifts on their unit. Clinical Technician Minimum Requirements: * Experience: Healthcare experience preferred. * Education: High School graduate or equivalent. * Certification: BLS within 90 days of hire (from the American Heart Association). * Training: Candidate must be able to attend a 6 week training Preferred Qualifications: * Patient Care Experience in a similar unit/facility preferred.
