JOB SUMMARY:

The Clinical Training Specialist is responsible for the development, coordination, and delivery of clinical training programs across new and existing health center locations. This position plays a critical role in ensuring clinical team members—including Medical Assistants, Providers, and other care team members—are trained in accordance with organizational standards, protocols, and workflows. The Specialist supports new hire onboarding, conducts competency assessments, and provides ongoing education and remediation to promote clinical quality, patient safety, and team performance.

SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Strong facilitation and presentation skills for diverse adult learning styles.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to assess training needs, identify skill gaps, and provide constructive feedback.
  • Skilled in EMR workflows, clinical documentation, and chart auditing.
  • Proficiency in Google Workspace (docs, sheets, slides) and familiarity with Learning Management Systems (LMS).
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities across various locations.
  • Collaborative mindset and ability to build positive working relationships with clinical and operational teams.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy, consistency, and compliance.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.

EDUCATION, CERTIFICATIONS & CLEARANCES:

  • Required: Associate’s Degree in Nursing or allied health profession (e.g., MA, RT, LPN, RN).
  • Current BLS/AED Certification
  • Child Clearance - Act 33
  • Criminal Clearance - Act 38
  • FBI Clearance - Act 73

EXPERIENCE:

  • Required: Minimum 3 years of experience in a clinical role in primary care, urgent care, or similar outpatient setting.
  • Required: Minimum 1 – 3 years experience in formal training delivery.
  • Preferred: Experience in training program development or clinical education.
  • Preferred: Familiarity with electronic health records (e.g., eClinicalWorks).

  • The employee frequently is required to use hands or fingers, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls.

Responsibilities

OTHER DUTIES:

  • Participate in the creation and execution of clinical onboarding plans for new hires.
  • Support training initiatives related to quality improvement, patient experience, and EMR changes.
  • Provide peer coaching, mentorship, and support to new or developing clinical team members.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of training strategies for enterprise initiatives.
  • Travel to health center locations as needed (estimated 50% - 75%). May require an irregular schedule that changes weekly and monthly based on travel needs. May be expected to work some weekends and an occasional holiday.
