Join the Westmead Medical Oncology Clinical Trials Unit, a long-standing research unit within WSLHD that supports clinical drug trials and investigator-initiated cancer research studies. What you'll be doing

As a Clinical Trial Assistant, you'll provide essential administrative and research support that keeps clinical trials running efficiently, accurately and in line with regulatory requirements. You'll work closely with trial coordinators and the broader research team to manage study documentation, data and trial activities.

  • Maintain accurate electronic and hard-copy study records, databases and regulatory documentation.
  • Coordinate monitoring visits, study visits, meetings, couriers, trial supplies and shipments.
  • Enter and maintain clinical trial data while supporting the preparation of reports, minutes and study documentation.
  • Following appropriate training, undertake basic patient measurements and process blood and blood products in accordance with study protocols.
  • Provide responsive day-to-day trial support, liaising with internal stakeholders and external vendors while managing competing priorities and deadlines.

Essential Criteria:             

  • Qualification: Relevant Tertiary qualification in a health discipline 

Selection Criteria:

  1. Tertiary qualification in a health or science discipline and equivalent training and experience.
  2. Proven proficiency in the use of the Microsoft Office suite of products, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook as well as database software.
  3. Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.
  4. Ability to meet deadlines, adapt to a fast pace environment and be flexible with work hours.
  5. Flexibility to work collaboratively within a team and independently with self-oversight.
  6. Demonstrated excellent organisational, problem solving skills and ability to multi-task and prioritise work.
  7. Ability to complete tasks efficiently and deliver outcomes as required, with accuracy and attention to detail.
  8. Knowledge of medical terminology and/or laboratory based work and/or venepuncture certification.
