Job description
This is an entry level position for a new skilled data curation graduate or data scientist looking for their next career opportunity to support one of our large Pharma customers. The curator will use established data curation pipelines and will have the responsibility to make adaptations to the scripts used for curation efforts of clinical trials data in Oncology and Inflammatory Bowel Disease areas. The person will be supported, and won’t be expected to implement new pipelines, establish new processes or write scripts from scratch.
Overview
As a Junior Clinical Trials Data Curator Data Engineer, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the integrity, accessibility, and usability of diverse datasets for algorithm development. Your responsibilities will include data onboarding, cleaning, integration, anonymization and transformation, contributing to the overall success of our data-driven activities. The JDCwill curate clinical data variables and associated tabular information so that they are well organized and accurate and will apply data anonymization tools to anonymize tabular datasets using established anonymization pipelines . The JDCwill work with multiple stakeholders to locate, transfer, and prepare the data for use by pathologists and data scientists. This will include overseeing and coordinating data preparation & transfer operations fromdifferent internal databases .

KEY SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • This is an entry level remote or office based position suitable for a new graduate or data scientist looking for their next opportunity.
  • A minimum of a BSc in Biology, Bioinformatics, Computer Science, Data Science, or related field(required)
  • 1+ years working in a data curation role (desirable)
  • Some academic or professional experience with Healthcare data standards, requirements and terminology (IBD / Oncology experience desirable)
  • Good understanding of Clinical Data Standards and some exposure to well-known Common Data Models (CDM) preferred (CDISC, OMOP, FHIR) (required)
  • Good understanding of PII data privacy and data governance under GDPR (required)
  • Solid programming skills using R studio (required)
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms, especially AWS (preferred)
  • Familiarity with agile methodologies and tools (JIRA, Confluence, Trello) (preferred)
  • Proficiency in using Git for version control (GitLab, GitHub) (preferred )
  • Ability to understand the importance of clinical data integrity and attention to detail essential.
  • Ability to work independently, follow up on verbal discussions with concrete action steps, and take initiative.
  • Business fluency in English (written and spoken)
Responsibilities
  • Collaboration with multiple stakeholders (pathologists, data scientists, product owners and data strategists) to understand and define data and infrastructure requirements for Product Development
  • Ensure compliance with data governance and privacy policies under GDPR and GCDMP
  • Programmatically Curate large datasets from diverse sources in a timely manner reusing existing code libraries
  • Run data anonymization pipelines on image metadata, clinical data, and genetic data to ensure compliance to Global Data Privacy Laws and internal policies
  • Contribute to the maintenance and optimization of digital pathology image/data curation and anonymization scripts
