ABOUT THE ROLE

The Haematology Department at Concord Hospital provides treatment and care for patients with blood cancers including leukaemia, lymphoma and myeloma, and other blood disorders such as blood clots and anaemia. Our patients receive care from a multidisciplinary team of haematologists, specialist nurses, pathologists, radiologists, radiation oncologists, allied health clinicians and clinical research staff. We work closely to ensure a coordinated, holistic approach to patient treatment.
The Clinical Research Unit at Concord Hospital’s Department of Haematology was established in 2005. It is now one of the largest clinical trials units in Australia – the largest clinical research unit for blood cancers in NSW. The team at Concord Haematology’s Clinical Research Unit includes haematologist clinician researchers, research nurses and data managers who have built a broad portfolio of clinical trials across the spectrum of blood cancers at Concord Hospital. They conduct world leading, patient centred clinical trials to access and develop innovative therapies for leukaemia, lymphoma, myeloma, and other blood disorders – cutting edge research which evaluates the safety and benefits of new medicines.
