Reporting To: Prof Seamus Sreenan, Director, Graduate Entry Medical Programme, RCSI or nominee
Location: Connolly Hospital, Blanchardstown, Dublin
Contract: 12 months, renewable, full time
Start Date: July 2025

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

Please note that successful candidates will be required to complete:

  • Occupational Health Clearance
  • Garda Vetting
  • Police Clearance (if in residence outside of Ireland for periods of 6 months or more at any stage)

Garda Vetting and Occ Health checks will be conducted by RCSI and partners but Police Clearance certification from countries outside of Ireland will be the responsibility of the successful candidate.

Responsibilities

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Contributing to the clinical teaching programme in the junior, intermediate and senior cycle of the four and five year teaching programmes
  • Contributing to the assessment of students in the junior, intermediate and senior cycles of the four and five year programmes. This includes development, delivery and evaluation of these activities
  • Liaising with heads of department, project leaders for clinical competence and other relevant faculty members in planning, delivering and evaluating teaching programmes
  • Providing resources and communication with student groups via the RCSI virtual learning environment
  • Delivering the curriculum at a number of sites e.g. assigned hospitals, RCSI Campus St Stephens Green, RCSI Sandyford Institute of Leadership & Healthcare Managemen

Other responsibilities include:

  • Conducting Research; Outcomes to be defined with relevant head of department
  • Performing Clinical Work on-site in Connolly Hospital in the Rheumatology Departments; Detail and commitment to be defined with relevant head of department
  • Ensuring that all Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland policies and procedures are adhered to
  • Complying with statutory legislation and Department rules and requirements in furtherance of your own and general staff welfare and safety
  • Representing the best interests of the Department/RCSI at all times
  • Performing such other duties as may be required from time to tim
