Description The Little Red Schoolhouse is a special education preschool that serves children between the ages of 2 years and Kindergarten entry who have behavioral and emotional challenges. The children attend year-round in small classrooms to help prepare children with behavioral challenges to succeed in school, improve the social and emotional functioning of each child, and develop and enhance social readiness skills. Our staff help children receive support within their family and community. All students are placed in our program through the Committee on Preschool Education following an evaluation and the CPSE evaluation is free for families and there is no cost for tuition or transportation. The Clinician at the Little Red Schoolhouse will be responsible for working with children, biological families, and foster families providing evidence-based treatment to stabilize and improve children’s behavioral health issues and to support client and family identified goals and outcomes. Job Responsibilities: Provides crisis intervention on an as-needed basis. When requested, assists in the intake process. Accepts assignments to serve on program committees. Attends all program staff development activities (unless excused by the Program Director) and attends a minimum of two seminars. After attending outside conferences partially or entirely reimbursed by the agency, is expected to disseminate findings as part of the internal staff development program. Develops treatment plan for each case assigned and reviews and updates plan in keeping with agency standards. Ensures that the psychiatrist has reviewed and signed each treatment plan and revised plan. Prepares for presentation at their annual performance evaluation a written summary of their staff development activities since their last evaluation and personal goals they would like to achieve in the coming year.
