Department Overview Hillsboro Medical Center, an Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU) Partner, is seeking a clinician-educator to support the community-based primary care residency, provide exceptional patient care, and further the educational mission. This position is a full-time academic position in the Division of General Internal Medicine and Geriatrics, Department of Internal Medicine at OHSU School of Medicine. Faculty in the Division of General Internal Medicine & Geriatrics participate actively in teaching medical students, residents, fellows, and each other. Opportunities for teaching abound and participation is encouraged and valued. The overall mission of the Hillsboro Medical Center Internal Medicine Primary Care Residency is to train physicians who are: well-rounded primary care physicians with excellent clinical skills resilient providers equipped to meet the needs of the diverse community of the Hillsboro, OR and greater Portland, OR areas; advocates for the underrepresented and underserved; stewards of the ideals of inclusion and equity; intellectually curious life-long learners; thoughtfully engaged in quality improvement and research; transformative leaders who guide primary care change and growth strong collaborators within interprofessional teams. Function/Duties of Position This position will include continuity ambulatory practice and potentially interim care for the practice. Clinical care duties will be the equivalent of 7 half days per week. Clinical work will include of precepting residents approximately one-half day a week. Evening clinic hours will be expected at 1-day per week. Communication skills and the ability to collaborate with other clinicians in our practice is essential. Duties of this position include Serve as a Primary care clinician in the Faculty Practice with OHSU at Hillsboro Internal Medicine Primary Care Clinic (to include continuity care, as well as interim or same day care) Participate in clinical based teaching of OHSU students and in the future Hillsboro Medical Center based Internal Medicine residents, such as resident continuity clinic precepting Potential for inpatient general medicine clinical work Required Qualifications MD or DO Demonstrated commitment to educational excellence All are welcome Oregon Health & Science University values a diverse and culturally competent workforce.
