Overview The Nurse Practitioner assesses plans and provides comprehensive patient care independently as well as in collaboration with other health care professionals. The Nurse Practitioner provides comprehensive health assessment, medical diagnosis of acute and chronic illnesses, writes prescriptions, and formulates a treatment plan with an emphasis on health promotion, disease prevention, and disease management. The Nurse Practitioner services as an educational resource for patient, staff and the community. Qualifications Education required: MSN with current RN licensure in the State of Alabama. FNP board certification and licensure in the State of Alabama. License, Certification and/or Registration: Successful completion of a National Certification Exam for NP. Current registration through the Alabama board of Nursing and Board of Medical Examiners.
