JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Sorter to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in the sorting process, ensuring that items are accurately categorized and prepared for further processing. This position requires strong organizational skills, effective communication abilities, and a commitment to maintaining a clean and efficient work environment. We are seeking a detail-oriented and fashion-savvy Clothing Sorter to join our thrift clothing operation. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for quality, brand recognition, fabric types, estimated value and era-specific styles, with a strong understanding of high-end vintage fashion. This role is critical to maintaining our brand’s reputation for curating exceptional pieces.

EXPERIENCE

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to maintain focus in a fast-paced, loud environment.
  • Previous experience in fashion retail, vintage clothing, thrift operations, or textile sorting.
  • Strong knowledge of high-end fashion brands, fabric types, and vintage fashion history.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and ability to work independently and with a team.
  • Physical ability to lift and move boxes/bins of clothing (up to 40 lbs) and stand for extended periods

Responsibilities
  • Sort items efficiently based on established guidelines and categories.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the sorting area to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Communicate effectively with team members to coordinate sorting efforts and resolve any issues that arise.
  • Inspect garments for authenticity, damage, wear, stains, or alterations. Identify items that can be repaired, cleaned, or upcycled.
  • Accurately identify designer labels, vintage brand tags, and era-specific styles from the 1920s to 2000s.
  • Provide support in training new staff members on sorting procedures and best practices.
  • Can work with minimal supervision
  • Stay updated on current fashion trends and demand within the vintage clothing market to help prioritize pieces.
  • Collaborate with the photography, merchandising, and sales teams to ensure consistent product quality and pricing.
