SEI has a challenging career opportunity for a Cloud Application Architect / Engineer. The optimal candidate will be a senior-level engineer with extensive experience in application migrations to the Azure and Oracle Cloud, Cloud modular Enterprise-scale architecture, security controls, automation/orchestration, and the enforcement of governance policies. You should be adaptable, possess a wide range of technical skills, and demonstrate the ability to understand financial services business requirements. You will be responsible for deploying and maintaining many components of the cloud infrastructure including network design, resource allocation, storage, and security.

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU:

BA/BS Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Computer Applications, or related field
Minimum of 10 years prior work experience onboarding workloads to cloud native architectures
Deep expertise in at least one of the Azure or Oracle Cloud platforms
Strong understanding of multi-account/multi-subscription strategies, networking, identity management, and security in cloud environments
Expert knowledge of compute, storage, networking on Azure and Oracle cloud
Foundational understanding of the Identity and Access management practices with practical deployment expertise in OCI IAM and Azure IAM
Experience with enterprise migrations from on-prem equipment to cloud environments
Experience in the design and automation of Infrastructure as a Service and Platform as a Service capabilities including virtual networks, virtual machines, cloud services, web sites, data services etc.
Experience with creating, deploying, configuring and scaling applications in Azure and Oracle cloud
Hands-on experience with onboarding and deploying front-end web portals securely using Cloudflare
Expert knowledge of designing high availability systems in Azure and Oracle Cloud (fault domains, availability zones, regions)
Knowledge of Azure Database fundamentals (Azure SQL DB, Azure SQL Managed Instance)
Experience with automated provisioning of Dev/Test/Staging and Production environments using Infrastructure as a Code tools like Terraform;
Experience documenting governance and workflows associated with cloud environments
Experience working with cloud native monitoring and logging tools (i.e. Log Analytics, Azure Monitor);
Experience with financial management in cloud using tools like Cloud Health, Apptio etc.;
Demonstrated ability to create system architecture diagrams and documentation for review by both technical and non-technical audiences;
Ability to break down application requirements and propose appropriate architectural solutions.

Responsibilities

Design and implement enterprise landing zones (e.g., Azure Landing Zones, Oracle Cloud Landing zones, AWS Control Tower, Google Cloud Foundation) that support multi-account/multi-subscription cloud environments.
Define and enforce cloud governance frameworks, including identity and access management (IAM), network segmentation, tagging policies, cost controls, and security baselines.
Collaborate with infrastructure, security, and DevOps teams to ensure compliance, resilience, and operational excellence in landing zone configurations.
Lead cloud workload onboarding efforts for application teams, providing architectural guidance, technical onboarding playbooks, and infrastructure-as-code templates.
Evaluate and integrate automation tools (e.g., Terraform, Pulumi) for provisioning landing zones and reusable cloud components.
Partner with enterprise architects, product owners, and business stakeholders to align landing zones and workload onboarding practices with organizational goals.
Contribute to the development of cloud blueprints, reference architectures, and technical standards for common workload patterns (e.g., web apps, data platforms, microservices).
Conduct architecture reviews, provide remediation recommendations, and support DevSecOps practices throughout the software development lifecycle.
Stay updated with cloud provider advancements and recommend improvements to cloud enablement strategy.
Hands-on engineer that assists and enables product/scrum teams with migrating and onboarding the respective workloads to the cloud.
Provides app reference architecture patterns for the phased app transformation approach with specific insights on migrating to native cloud services.
Assist with DevOps needs as well as CI/CD pipelines and deployment patterns.
Mentor team members and provide hands on technical delivery of projects.
