POSITION SUMMARY

Internet2 is seeking a skilled and experienced Cloud Application System Administrator to manage, monitor, and optimize our cloud-based applications and infrastructure. This role is ideal for someone passionate about cloud technologies, feature management including AI, managing user life-cycle, group management, access control, and enabling secure integrations with additional services.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology (may also be a similar field) or related experience
  • 5+ years of experience in cloud administration
  • Proficiency administering cloud platforms (Microsoft 365, Google Workplace, Zoom, Box, etc.) and related services
  • Strong understanding of Identity and Access Management concepts and practices
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to document and communicate new technologies and features for user adoption
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently in a remote team environment

PREFERRED SKILLS

  • Experience in higher education or research-focused organizations
  • Experience working with Cloud Applications and enabling SAML SSO with the InCommon Federation
  • Knowledge of Identity and Access Management (IAM), SSO, SAML, OIDC and federated authentication and authorization
  • Understanding of compliance frameworks (e.g., NIST, HIPAA, FERPA)

Responsibilities
  • Administer and support a portfolio of cloud-hosted applications including but not limited to Microsoft 365, Google Workplace for Education, Zoom and Box.com
  • Provide leadership for other Cloud applications and other Cloud Service Administrators across Internet2
  • Provision and deprovision users and groups as necessary
  • Understanding of Internet concepts such as Networking, TCP, UDP, DNS, SMTP, DKIM, SPF, and DMARC
  • Monitor performance, availability, and security of cloud services and applications
  • Collaborate with development and operations teams to ensure seamless integration and performance
  • Troubleshoot and resolve cloud infrastructure and application issues
  • Maintain documentation for cloud environments including configurations, administration best practices, user documentation and maintenance procedures
  • Ensure compliance with security policies and best practices
  • Document disaster recovery planning and execution for cloud services
  • Stay current with emerging cloud technologies and recommend improvements
