Cloud Capital acquires, manages, develops, and operates data centers to become the long-term owner and operator of choice for tenants globally. The Cloud team of 29 located in London, Washington DC, and San Francisco manages over $5 billion of data center assets. What the Role Entails We are seeking an experienced hands-on Chief Accounting Officer (CAO) to join the leadership team of our rapidly growing business. The CAO, reporting to our CIO, will lead the global accounting function, overseeing all aspects of accounting, financial reporting, and tax compliance for the investment vehicles and the advisor. Working closely with senior management, you will lead and develop the Washington D.C. and London Finance Teams, managing vendor relationships, enhancing process controls and systems. · Financial Reporting & Controls: Oversee the preparation of accurate and timely forecasting, valuations, financial & performance reporting. · Tax Ensure global compliance with regulatory requirements, including tax filings, indirect taxes (e.g., VAT/GST), transfer pricing and local statutory filings. · Audit & Controls: Manage the audit process. Continually monitor and enhance internal controls to prevent errors and safeguard the fund’s financial assets. · Risk Management: Work closely teams to identify, assess, and mitigate financial and operational risks as well as monitoring risk limits. · Systems & Operational Efficiency Select and implement an accounting platform, driving process improvements and system enhancements to support scale, efficiency, and transparency. · Team Leadership & Development - Lead and develop a geographically distributed accounting team. · Investors: Support the launch of new products, investor due diligence, reporting, distributions, and capital calls. · Financing Work closely with our Capital Markets team to onboard and maintain financing arrangements, lender reporting and loan covenant monitoring. · Service Provides Select & manage service providers including fund administrators, auditors, and tax advisors. Requirements What You Bring to the Role Degree educated with an active CPA. 20+ years of prior experience in a U.S.-based real estate investment management company with global operations. Proven success in building finance teams, systems and controls. Proficiency in GAAP & IFRS financial statement accounting and understanding of financial flows. Strong quantitative/numerical skills and proficiency in Excel. Knowledge of taxation for REITs/real estate investments. Yardi experience a plus. Must be highly process-oriented and have experience with organizational control environments. Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills. Strong work ethic and self-motivation. Demonstrated professional verbal and written communication skills. Strong leadership skills; works well with internal and external team members and drives execution through collaboration and networking.
