This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Cloud Computing Application Architect in the United States. This role offers the chance to lead the design, implementation, and modernization of cloud-based solutions that enhance Public Health data capabilities. The Cloud Computing Application Architect will guide teams in developing secure, scalable, and efficient architectures while supporting enterprise applications across AWS and hybrid environments. You will play a critical role in cloud migrations, automation, and best-practice governance, helping to modernize legacy systems and optimize data sharing and analytics. This position emphasizes technical leadership, mentoring, and solving complex challenges that have direct impact on national Public Health initiatives. Accountabilities Design, implement, and maintain secure, scalable cloud architectures that support Public Health data modernization initiatives. Architect and deploy enterprise applications and services across AWS and hybrid cloud environments. Collaborate with data modernization teams to align cloud strategies with organizational priorities and technical standards. Lead and advise engineering teams through cloud migrations, environment builds, and modernization initiatives. Develop and enforce best practices for security, automation, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure performance. Guide development of applications using .NET, Entity Framework, and SQL across cloud and on-premise systems. Research, recommend, and implement emerging cloud technologies to improve scalability, resilience, and cost-efficiency. Mentor and coach team members on architecture design, cloud operations, and automation best practices. Minimum 7 years of experience designing, configuring, and administering enterprise cloud environments. Multi-cloud expertise, particularly in AWS and Azure, with experience in hybrid cloud architectures. 4+ years’ experience developing applications using .NET, Entity Framework, and SQL. Proven ability to lead technical teams through cloud transformations and modernization projects. Expertise in designing secure, cloud-based architectures and adhering to cloud governance and compliance standards. Experience deploying and troubleshooting IaaS and PaaS environments on Linux/Unix-based systems, including shell scripting. Proficiency with CI/CD and automation tools such as GitHub Actions. Cloud certifications preferred (e.g., AWS Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Architect Expert). Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; Master’s preferred, or equivalent experience. Nice to Have: Experience with cloud cost optimization and governance frameworks.
