Description
SAIC is seeking a Cloud Configuration Management Specialist to support an IT Service Management effort for USTRANSCOM located at Scott Air Force Base (AFB) in Illinois. The USTC Managed Information Technology Services (MITS) contract is intended to provide strategic, technical, and program management guidance and support services to facilitate the operations and modernization of the combatant command’s infrastructure, systems, and applications. This support will be provided to the USTC Command, Control, Communications & Cyber Systems Directorate (TCJ6). The successful candidate will be responsible for the IT Service Management (ITSM) Configuration Management process to identify, track, and manage the baseline Configuration Items (CIs) in an enterprise environment through their lifecycle for the Cloud team Responsibilities: Cloud and Configuration Management: Apply configuration management practices to cloud environments, including deployment of systems to AWS with Cloud and non-native services. Utilize configuration management tools to support complex projects and ensure compliance with policies and standards. Implement configuration management processes and procedures in alignment with Enterprise Configuration Management Standard Operating Procedures (SOP). Project Leadership and Process Optimization: Organize, maintain, and enhance technical knowledge bases to support configuration and change management efforts. Proactively identify and resolve operational, tooling, and process inefficiencies. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, contributing to design, implementation, and project planning. Participate in sprint cycles, sprint planning, backlog creation, grooming, and priority management. Compliance and Quality Management: Develop and maintain standardized documentation to meet customer requirements, including the establishment or refinement of documentation formats. Review engineering change requests to verify adherence to configuration management policies. Analyze and refine information to develop or update policies, procedures, and supporting documents. Technical Expertise: Demonstrate in-depth understanding of AWS services available in GovCloud and effectively communicate recommendations based on client needs. Leverage knowledge of systems engineering processes and critical program milestones. Develop engineering design and change artifacts to support configuration management processes. Maintain comfort and expertise with infrastructure-as-code principles, cloud formation templates, and DevOps solutions (e.g., GitLab, Artifactory). Customer Interaction: Engage with high-level customers to provide support, recommendations, and strategic guidance. Balance technical needs with customer experience improvements (e.g., UI and content refinement, support documentation). Work Schedule: Perform responsibilities during regular business hours (Monday through Friday). However, the candidate must be available to support planned or emergency events after hours or on weekends as required Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) in a related field. Ten (10) or more years of professional experience in relevant areas, including configuration management and systems engineering. Active DoD Secret Clearance. Possession of at least one IAT Level II certification, including but not limited to: Security+, CECCNA-Security, CySA+**, GICSP, GSEC, CND, or SSCP. AWS Cloud Practitioner Certification (CLF-C02). Proven experience interacting with clients to provide cloud-based support and solutions with exposure to cloud formation templates. Desired Qualifications: Master’s degree (MA/MS) in a related field. Experience working in a managed service environment supporting customer-facing applications. Proficiency in scripting languages, with the ability to review and merge code requests. Understanding of infrastructure-as-code principles and hands-on experience with DevOps tools (e.g., GitLab, Artifactory). Familiarity with modern software development practices, including Agile, Scrum, or SAFe methodologies. Strong skills in creating visuals and diagrams for technical content, improving user experiences, and refining support documentation. Demonstrated success managing multiple simultaneous configuration management (CM) projects in a fast-paced environment.
