CLOUD DELIVERY LEAD The role As part of IT Team, the Cloud Delivery lead will lead the delivery of cloud solutions leveraging Microsoft Azure services, Infrastructure as Code (IaC) with Terraform, and CI/CD automation using Azure DevOps and ensure secure, scalable, and compliant deployments aligned with Saab Australia’s cloud strategy and regulatory requirements are met. The role is pivotal in enabling Saab Australia’s IT department to adopt Terraform and modern cloud infrastructure practices, while driving cloud adoption across the organization by collaborating closely with architecture and security teams to deliver robust, compliant, and automated solutions. You will lead in Implement cloud solutions using IaC following industry best practices and under the guidance of the Cloud Solution Architecture team. Your role will be in transforming high-level designs into practical, secure, and scalable implementations that comply with Saab internal processes and governance, while ensuring adherence to PSPF, ISM, and ASD guidelines Further, the successful candidate will: Hands-on experience implementing solutions aligned to Cloud Adoption Framework (CAF) and Well-Architected Framework (WAF). Design and implement Azure Landing Zones and cloud infrastructure using Terraform. Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps for application and infrastructure deployments. Collaborate with architects and business stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions through end-to-end automation. Implement governance, security, and compliance controls in cloud environments Optimize cloud resources for cost efficiency and performance. Provide technical leadership and mentoring to delivery teams. Implement a robust FinOps model under the guidance of Cloud architecture team, driving adoption and guiding the organization through the FinOps maturity journey to optimize cloud costs. Deliver training programs and upskill teams on Terraform and Azure cloud technologies to build internal capability and ensure best practices. Flexible work arrangements such as hybrid work from home / office, 9 day fortnight and will be considered for this role. About you Your skills and experience will include: Essential Skills Azure expertise: Networking, compute, storage, identity, governance, containers (AKS). Terraform proficiency: Writing reusable modules, managing state, and automation. DevOps tooling and best practices: Pipelines, repos, artifacts, and release management. Strong understanding of cloud security best practices. Experience with PowerShell or Bash scripting. Familiarity with Git and version control workflows. Demonstrates a strong commitment to team success and actively brings everyone along on the journey. Bachelor’s degree in computer science and engineering, IT or any equivalent qualification. Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104) Microsoft Certified: Azure DevOps Engineer Expert (AZ-400) Terraform Associate Desirable but not essential: Knowledge of Azure Policy, Blueprints, and Landing Zone architecture. Experience in the defence industry and familiarity with Australian Signals Directorate (ASD) and Information Security Manual (ISM) security and compliance requirements for cloud environments. Certifications: Azure Solution Architect Expert (AZ-305) As a defence security clearance is required for this role, applicants will be required to hold an Australian Citizenship and Australian Defence Security Clearance to NV1/NV2 level or have the ability to gain on. Information including past and present nationality and citizenship may be requested to check eligibility for access to materials controlled under various export control regimes, including ITAR.
