Responsibilities:

ABOUT THE ROLE

As a Cloud engineer, you’ll be responsible for assisting with additional technical services as directed by the Team Leader, Hybrid Cloud, or assigned Senior System Administrators.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Managing AWS environments via a web interface or through PowerShell/CLI commands
  • Practical experience in executing cloud deployments using Azure DevOps pipelines or GitHub actions
  • Proficiency in crafting and customizing CloudFormation templates and utilizing scripting languages like AWS CLI for application deployment and configuration
  • Competence in performing business intelligence actions on logging, cloud billing/usage, and metric data
  • Generating and updating comprehensive system documentation
  • Communicating effectively with clients, offering timely and detailed advice orally and in writing on AWS cloud services
  • Ensuring timely completion of prioritized deliverables within designated timeframes
  • Delivering results in accordance with documented technical architectures and policies
  • Providing services that adhere to change, configuration, incident, and problem management methodologies and systems

Desirable:

  • Experience managing and supporting AWS hybrid cloud environments and demonstrated experience with AWS accounts, AWS Organisations, AWS config rules, and AWS policies including AWS Service Control Policies
  • The ability to analyse cloud logs and billing data using billing APIs and Business Intelligence(BI) toolsets.
  • Demonstrated experience working with JSON and/or YAML templates
  • A good understanding of and demonstrated working experience with Cloud security - Security Groups, network security, encryption, auditing, monitoring and logging.
  • PowerShell and other relevant scripting languages
  • Experience with SQL server administration and T-SQL query language
  • Experience with automation via scripts and orchestration tools like vRealize Automation
  • Windows Server System Administration (minimum of Windows Server 2012 R2 / Windows Server 2016)
  • Experience supporting an Enterprise environment
  • Demonstrated history of producing high quality systems documentation
