POSITION SUMMARY

This position will take on an important role in the technical direction, implementation, and maintenance of cloud-based solutions, primarily running on Amazon Web Services and utilizing Azure DevOps for CI/CD, which empowers Embed’s customers with accessible and actionable online technologies. Experience with Google Cloud Platform and on-premises infrastructure is a plus. The ideal candidate will contribute to our collaborative and innovative environment, driving the adoption of best practices in implementation, monitoring, and ensuring the scalability, reliability, and security of our cloud infrastructure..

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in cloud engineering, with a focus on designing, implementing, and managing solutions on Amazon Web Services (AWS).
  • 3+ years of experience in designing and implementing CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps.
  • Experience in integrating cloud solutions with existing on-premises infrastructure (a plus).
  • Experience with on-premises infrastructure management (e.g., servers, networking, storage) is a plus.
  • Expertise in AWS services, including but not limited to: EC2, S3, RDS, VPC, IAM, and CloudWatch.
  • Strong understanding of cloud networking concepts and best practices.
  • Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools such as CloudFormation or Terraform.
  • Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Experience implementing and managing cloud monitoring and logging solutions.
  • Proven ability to design, build, and manage CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps.
  • Experience with automated deployment strategies.
  • Proficiency in Python or JavaScript for automating cloud infrastructure tasks and monitoring.
  • Strong Windows and Linux administration skills, including advanced Bash scripting.
  • Strong understanding of cloud security best practices and experience implementing security measures (e.g., IAM, security groups, encryption, compliance
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to identifying, prioritizing, and resolving issues.

  • Bachelor or Master Degree in Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with the development team to design, implement, and deploy optimal cloud-based solutions on AWS, aligning with business requirements and best practices
  • Design, build, and manage CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps to automate application deployments and infrastructure changes, ensuring efficient and reliable releases.
  • Implement comprehensive monitoring and logging solutions using tools like CloudWatch to proactively identify, troubleshoot, and resolve performance, availability, and security issues in the cloud environment.
  • Orchestrate and automate cloud infrastructure and platforms using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as CloudFormation or Terraform to ensure scalability, repeatability, and maintainability.
  • Manage and administer AWS cloud environments, including compute, storage, networking, and database services, adhering to security guidelines and compliance requirements.
  • Implement and enforce robust security measures, including IAM, security groups, network access control lists (NACLs), and encryption, to protect data and infrastructure in the cloud.
  • Manage access control and permissions to cloud resources, following the principle of least privilege and security best practices.
  • Proactively identify areas for improvement in cloud infrastructure, processes, and costs, and implement solutions to optimize performance, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Evaluate and recommend cloud solutions across different providers (AWS, Azure, GCP) based on technical requirements and business needs (GCP experience is a plus).
  • Document cloud infrastructure, configurations, and procedures to ensure knowledge sharing and maintainability.
  • Integrate cloud solutions with existing on-premises infrastructure and services, ensuring seamless interoperability. Experience with designing, implementing, and managing on-premises infrastructure (e.g., servers, networking, storage) is a plus.
