REQUIREMENTS

  • Experience: 5–8 years in Linux/Unix administration (RHEL).
  • Containers: Strong expertise in Docker, Kubernetes, container lifecycle management, and orchestration (AWS EKS).
  • Security: Solid knowledge of Linux security hardening, auditing, and compliance (IM8/GCC).
  • Troubleshooting: Proficiency in RHEL troubleshooting, patching, upgrades, crash dump/log analysis.
  • Clustering & Virtualization: Experience in Linux clustering, high availability, and virtualization.
  • Automation: Strong skills in Shell scripting, Ansible automation; exposure to CI/CD pipelines.
  • Cloud: Knowledge of AWS services (EC2, VPC, IAM, Load Balancers, EKS).
  • Monitoring: Hands-on experience with Splunk, Prometheus, ELK, and other monitoring tools.
  • Communication: Strong ability to communicate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (NICE TO HAVE)

  • Prior experience with GovTech GCC operational environments.
  • Certifications: Kubernetes (CKA/CKAD), Docker, RHCE, AWS SysOps, ITIL .
  • Exposure to DevSecOps practices and cloud-native security controls.
  • Experience in cloud migration and container modernization projects in government or regulated environments.

Responsibilities
  • RHEL Server Management: Install, configure, administer, and optimize RHEL servers in GCC (AWS) environments.
  • Containerization & Orchestration: Deploy, configure, and maintain containerized workloads using Docker and Kubernetes (K8s/EKS).
  • Migration Projects: Support migration of applications from legacy environments (RHEL, Solaris, AIX) to containerized/cloud-native platforms.
  • Compliance & Security: Perform OS security hardening, ensure systems meet GovTech GCC compliance standards, and conduct audit checks.
  • Clustering & High Availability: Manage Linux clustering, VM clustering, and container orchestration for high availability.
  • Storage & Middleware Management: Administer LVM, GFS, NFS, DNS, automount, and support middleware (Squid Proxy, SMTP, Splunk, Apache, Tomcat).
  • Automation & Infrastructure-as-Code: Automate tasks using Shell scripting, Ansible, and support IaC-based deployments.
  • Monitoring & Incident Response: Monitor system performance, conduct root cause analysis, and respond to incidents within GCC workloads.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with GovTech, vendors, and agencies for problem resolution, upgrades, and operational improvements.
