At Lely, we are working on a new generation of digital infrastructure for dairy farmers. Central to this is the Lely Hub: a platform that brings Kubernetes on the edge to the farm and forms the foundation for our digital services. The global rollout is still in its early stages, with the goal of eventually having this infrastructure running on more than 25,000 farms worldwide.

The Lely Hub forms the digital heart of the farm. On the one hand, the platform ensures a reliable and secure IT environment on-site. On the other hand, it enables various software teams within Lely to run their applications locally on the farm.

As a Cloud Edge Engineer, you play an important role in building and improving this platform. Together with other engineers, you develop an environment in which Lely applications can run securely, scalably, and reliably on the Lely Hub.

You work on topics such as container orchestration, deployment pipelines, and observability. In doing so, you ensure that software on thousands of farms worldwide continues to run stably and can be properly managed.

Your main responsibilities

• Developing and improving the Edge platform of the Lely Hub, on which applications from various Lely development teams run.
• Building and maintaining Helm charts for applications running on our Kubernetes environment at the Edge
• Developing and improving CI/CD pipelines to roll out specific software versions in a controlled manner to thousands of farms
• Setting up and improving observability and monitoring, so that we maintain insight into how the Lely Hub functions at customers.
• Collaborating with various development teams to ensure their applications run securely and reliably on the Edge platform
• Developing and integrating tooling that supports the platform, partly off-the-shelf and partly in-house developed
