POSITION SUMMARY:

NAR is looking for a Cloud Engineer to join a dynamic IT team. Reporting to the Director, Technical Infrastructure, the Cloud engineer is an exciting role where the Cloud engineer will play a key role in establishing Azure network function for NAR. The role requires an individual to have both hands on as well as strategic experience, proactive, with managing Azure and on-prem network functions. The individual will be responsible driving and executing Infrastructure design for cloud architecture and on-prem. This role serves as part of Infrastructure team subject matter expert for cloud technologies and platforms while collaborating with our teams to identify implementing the most optimal cloud-based solution for the company.
The ideal candidates will be able to work effectively in a fast-paced setting, bring a fresh perspective to Infrastructure, innovative, and passionate for emerging IT technologies solutions.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS, Information Technology or related field or equivalent experience preferred
  • Minimum of 5-8 years of overall Cloud Engineer / Systems Engineer experience
  • In-depth knowledge of networking, security, and technical approaches in designing, building, testing, as required in enterprise and public cloud network, including but not limited to Palo Alto firewalls, WAF, Linux, Unix, Windows, Security, PCI audit, monitor, logging, etc.
  • Proficiency in Azure services, including virtual machines, storage, networking, databases, applications, and security. Strong scripting skills in PowerShell, ARM templates, or similar tools.
  • Excellent problem-solving, organizational skills, and detailed orientated.
  • Strong communication skills and interpersonal skills, with ability to collaborate, convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Results oriented with high attention to detail, ability to multi-task, and meet deadlines in a dynamic, fast-paced team environment.
  • Preferred Advanced certifications in Azure Network engineering or Azure Solution Architect.
    Compensation: $125,000-$150,000.
    NAR provides comprehensive benefits including health/dental/vision insurance.
    NAR is on a hybrid schedule with 3 days a week in the office.
Responsibilities
  • Design, implement, and support Azure cloud Infrastructure to ensure optimal performance, scalability, and reliability to meet technical and business requirements.
  • Manage and optimize cloud infrastructure, ensuring high availability and performance.
  • Strong hands-on knowledge of Azure Infrastructure and Platform as Service offerings, including Networking, Compute, Storage, KeyVaults, Log Analytics, Azure Monitor, and other Azure services.
  • Expert Level knowledge of designing, configuring and understanding Azure Networking, Hub and Spoke topology, IP routing (subnetting, BGP, etc), and Network Security (Network Manager, Virtual Wan, VNets, ExpressRoute, VPN, Azure Front door, Palo Alto Firewalls, VPN tunnels, WAF, Network security groups, F5-Azure, DMZ, etc)
  • Collaborate with Infrastructure team to ensure tasks and requirements are met for hybrid communication between cloud and on-premises systems, networking, security, and Private/Public DNS.
  • Azure network subject matter expert recommending and implementing best-practices, including network architecture, access management, and security.
  • Ensure cloud infrastructure adheres to security best practices and compliance requirements, implementing necessary controls.
  • Strong understanding of Azure Security (Entra ID, roll based access control (RBAC), Policies)
  • Exposure to Azure DevOps, including pipelines, release management, and Infrastructure as code (IaC).
  • Collaborate with applications development, security, and cross-teams to ensure all applications are designed and optimized for cloud environment.
  • Deploy, test, troubleshoot, document, and proactively maintain Azure network services and related technologies.
  • Configure and manage monitoring, alerting, and reporting of key performance indicators in Azure cloud environment.
  • Familiar with Microsoft Defender for Cloud and IP address Management (IPAM) Infoblox solution.
  • Installs patches and maintains accurate records of network changes and patch/update levels.
  • Provide advanced troubleshooting and support for cloud related issues, ensuring timely resolution and minimal impact to business operations.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation and be on-site 3-days weekly.
  • Take part developing technical processes and documentation.
  • Adaptability and learning new concepts and train team members.
  • Take ownership of high priority operational projects.
  • Other duties as assigned.
