  • Ability to learn new technologies quickly and adapt to changing requirements

ABILITIES:

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities and requirements
  • Capacity to participate in on-call rotations and respond to critical system issues
  • Skill in balancing competing demands while maintaining system stability and performance
  • Commitment to continuous learning and staying current with evolving cloud and infrastructure technologies
  • Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams while taking ownership of technical deliverables

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS / QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Required: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related technical field
  • Preferred: Relevant industry certifications such as Microsoft Azure Administrator Associate, Azure Solutions Architect Associate, VMware VCP, or CompTIA Server+
  • Experience: 3-7 years of experience in server administration, cloud infrastructure, or hybrid environment management
  • Technical Experience: Hands-on experience with both on-premise server environments and public cloud platforms (preferably Azure)
  • Demonstrated experience with automation, scripting, and infrastructure management tools
  • Experience in higher education or complex organizational environments preferred
  • Strong track record of successful infrastructure projects and system implementations
Responsibilities
  • Design and implement hybrid cloud architectures that optimize workload placement between on-premise and Azure cloud environments
  • Manage and maintain on-premise server infrastructure, including Windows and Linux servers, virtualization platforms, and storage systems
  • Configure and optimize Azure cloud services, including Virtual Machines, App Services, Azure SQL, and networking components
  • Establish and maintain secure connectivity between on-premise and cloud environments using VPN, ExpressRoute, and hybrid networking solutions
  • Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools like Terraform, ARM templates, or Bicep for consistent deployment across environments
  • Monitor system performance and availability across hybrid environments, implementing proactive maintenance and optimization strategies
  • Automate routine operational tasks using PowerShell, Python, or other scripting languages to improve efficiency
  • Collaborate with security teams to implement and maintain security controls, compliance requirements, and access management across hybrid environments
  • Participate in cloud migration projects, assessing workloads and determining optimal placement strategies
  • Manage backup and disaster recovery solutions for both on-premise and cloud-based systems
  • Troubleshoot complex technical issues spanning on-premise and cloud infrastructure
  • Maintain documentation for system configurations, procedures, and architectural decisions
  • Participate in 24/7 on-call rotation to ensure continuous system availability
  • Work with vendors and support teams to resolve infrastructure issues and implement solutions
  • Assist in capacity planning and cost optimization efforts across hybrid environments
  • Support compliance requirements including FERPA, HIPAA, and other regulatory standards
  • Contribute to the development of best practices and standards for hybrid cloud operations
