Description SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE OF THE JOB: Cloud Engineer responsible for designing, deploying, and managing scalable, secure infrastructure on Amazon Web Services (AWS). Key responsibilities include optimizing cloud resource performance and costs, automating workflows with IAC, troubleshooting systems, and ensuring compliance. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Client Relationship: Build a great relationship with the client Understand our clients: drivers, needs, and pains Support growth initiatives by capturing information to help inform business development Technical Responsibilities: Sustain and enhance the end-state solution to ensure long-term availability and reliability Developing and maintaining components of web applications with a keen focus on security Sustaining the end-state solution through continued AWS-based development Accreditation support for Cloud One, DAF Cloudworks, AWS GovCloud and/or comparable unclassified or classified environments Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency gains within the project management function Working with all stakeholders problem solve for any blockers, unexpected things that challenge a projects’ previous expectations Documentation: Maintain accurate project documentation, including project plans, schedules, budgets, and status reports. Ensure that all project documentation is organized and accessible to relevant stakeholders Requirements REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: At least 5 years of hands-on AWS cloud platform experience Designing, implementing, and supporting scalable, reliable solutions using AWS services such as S3, Lambda, Glue, RDS, DynamoDB, and others Writing clean, maintainable, secure, and well-documented code Collaborating with cross-functional teams and other vendors to define, design, and deploy features Hands-on experience with infrastructure-as-code tools, particularly Terraform Familiarity with containerization using Docker, and deployment templating/orchestration using Helm Comfortability with navigating and troubleshooting a Kubernetes cluster via kubectl. Exposure to CI/CD pipeline tooling, preferably within GitLab Basic scripting ability in Python and Bash for automation tasks PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Experience with Cloud One or DAF CloudWorks AWS Solutions Architect – Associate certification CompTIA Security+ certification Knowledge of DoD policies, regulations, procedures, and processes Experience in the technology industry or related field Experience with professional services or consulting PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS: Continuous mental and/or visual attention required. Requires the ability to remain stationary for long periods of time. Regularly communicates to various people. Large amounts of reading and analysis is required. Requires the ability to focus for an extended period of time. Requires the ability to travel. Requires the ability to work both remotely and at clients’ offices.
