JOB SUMMARY
The Cloud Engineer is responsible for managing, planning, and implementing cloud-based infrastructure solutions to meet the organization’s IT and business objectives. This role involves working collaboratively with IT and business teams to ensure the efficient and secure operation of WCB’s cloud infrastructure.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Completion of a recognized degree or diploma program in an IT related discipline; Computer Science is preferred
Minimum seven (7) years Information Technology experience, including minimum five (5) years related to IT infrastructure/cloud system administration, cloud technologies, platforms, and tools
Knowledge of cloud security principles with the ability to apply knowledge and best practices into the cloud landing zone and cloud infrastructure design
Strong knowledge and experience designing and implementing cloud computing platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
Strong background in software development, infrastructure design, and automation
Proficient in programming languages such as Python, or Powershell
Expertise in cloud management technologies related to infrastructure as code, containerization and orchestration
Ability to independently plan and organize workload and meet tight deadlines
Ability to develop professional documents for standard operating procedures and processes
Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, including excellent presentation skills
Ability to facilitate meetings, stakeholder workshops, and vendor presentations to gain the desired outcomes
Ability to foster positive working relationships with partners and stakeholders, including managed service providers and external vendors
The ability to communicate proficiently in both official languages (English & French) is an asset, but is not required

Manages and maintains WCB’s cloud environments, ensuring high availability, optimal performance and reliability to meet current and future needs.
Designs, implements and enhances cloud-based infrastructure to support the organization’s IT and business goals.
Manages cloud infrastructure costs and budgeting, optimizing system resources for efficiency and scalability.
Collaborates with IT and business teams in the planning and implementation of new cloud technologies and services, ensuring efficient and secure operations of a multi-cloud and/or hybrid cloud computing environment.
Automates deployment processes to enhance efficiency and reduce manual intervention.
Conducts regular assessments of cloud infrastructure and ensures compliance with legislative, industry standards, best practices, and security protocols.
Oversees and provides technical support for cloud infrastructure, platforms and services, addressing issues and maximizing performance; conducts root cause analysis for high severity incidents.
Designs and implements appropriate networking parameters for cloud platforms and maintains the technical roadmap for network automation.
Develops and maintains documentation related to cloud platform design, processes, and procedures.
Produces monthly and quarterly KPI reports on the health of WCB’s cloud infrastructure and cloud computing environments.
Stays up-to-date with the latest cloud technologies, frameworks, trends, best practices and market offerings.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
