Varian is seeking a Solutions Architect in support of our Managed Services global business. Our goal is to provide exceptional service to our customers while establishing, maintaining, and optimizing operations best practices in support of Varian’s public and private Cloud products. Providing support for new and legacy applications and services hosted in the cloud, and continuous improvement of Varian’s Cloud infrastructure. The candidate will collaborate with Service, Operations, Network, DevOps, Product Management and Security, contributing to our service and product goals. The Implementation Architect must have expertise with Varian applications, complex troubleshooting, documentation, and Managed Service Providers. Additional responsibilities for delivering support to the infrastructure and deployment of Varian’s applications as a Managed Service, and provide input in developing and maintaining policies, procedures, and standards. The position will receive direction from the Manager of Global Cloud Operations.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of relevant professional experience in the IT/Cloud industry. Or 10+ years of direct IT/Cloud support experience.
  • Two years plus installing or supporting Varian Applications Suite (ARIA, Eclipse, AURA, Velocity, IEM/AC, etc.).
  • Ability to successfully manage under pressure and respond to critical or changing priorities throughout the day.
  • Ability to explain complex technical solutions to technical and non-technical audiences, and to connect technological solutions with measurable business value.
  • Demonstrate ability to develop innovative technical approaches as complete solutions to business problems.
  • Demonstrate exceptional listening, verbal and written communication, and presentation skills.
  • Current proficiency and previously supporting the following technologies. Windows Server OS, Citrix, Active Directory, Domain Trusts.
  • Proficiency with an IT Service Management tool managing, Incidents, Changes, Problems, Requests and other business processes.

DESIRED EXPERIENCE

  • Experience in a regulated medical environment.
  • Enterprise infrastructure environments – advanced Active Directory and Systems Management concepts.
  • SQL Server and SQL Server performance troubleshooting.
  • PAN Firewall administration
  • Azure Certifications. AZ-104 Azure Administrator
  • Azure Active Directory IAM/RBAC/PIM, Azure Data Protection Storage/Backup/Restore, Azure Administration, Azure Monitoring, Azure Reporting,
  • Windows Server, Hyper-V & VMWare/vSphere.
  • Advanced Azure IAAS management & administration.
  • Scripting (any of the following: PowerShell / JSON / Arm / APIs / Python).
  • Security and Networking knowledge
  • Dynatrace operational experience
  • ITIL certification

    The annual base pay for this position is:
    Min $89,000 - Max $133,500
    Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
    If this is a commission eligible position the commission eligibility will be in accordance with the terms of the Company’s plan. Commissions are based on individual performance and/or company performance.

Responsibilities
  • Providing operations, onboarding and migration services that enable Varian to tailor the availability and delivery of cloud and on prem computing services based on business and technical requirements.
  • Being an expert at troubleshooting Varian Applications Suite (ARIA, Eclipse, AURA, Velocity, IEM/AC, etc.) and underlying technologies.
  • Leading technical upgrading, installing, and configuring monitoring solutions for Azure and Windows based technologies.
  • Solving complex technical problems and document solutions to improve and incorporate solutions in future Managed Services versions.
  • Reporting on current infrastructure status and planning for future usage.
  • Performing group maintenance on Azure Identify and Access Management Users.
  • Providing technical support to Project Managers during onboarding, upgrades, or related projects.
  • Coordinating of workload and escalations to the appropriate teams or partners as necessary.
  • Providing expertise for the organization on continuous improvement of monitoring and enabling proactive detection of incidents.
  • Providing automation and optimization of Azure maintenance and management tasks.
  • Serving as a technical or process mentor to colleagues as necessary.
  • Maintaining a strong knowledge of Varian’s suite of applications as new versions are released.
