Highrise Consulting, Inc. (www.highriseconsulting.com) is seeking an experienced Cloud Infrastructure Architect to work remotely full-time, supporting a client at NIH (National Institutes of Health).

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 10+ years of experience of leading the design, development, and deployment of IT systems for an enterprise organization in a cloud environment (preferably AWS)
  • Strong background with infrastructure automation through DevOps scripting including shell, Ansible, Python and/or PowerShell
  • Experience delivering solutions and administering systems in a cloud environment using laaS and PaaS offerings
  • Hands-on Experience with Linux (RHEL and Amazon Linux preferred) and Windows operating systems in a cloud environment
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with experience working in a highly collaborative on-site environment
  • Experience working in Agile environment
  • Experience with the Atlassian information management tools such as Confluence, Jira, Bitbucket, etc.
  • Proven experience preparing and presenting technical documentation to various audiences
  • Hands-on experience in maintaining and supporting large enterprise systems
  • Experience managing and orchestrating AWS Infrastructure using cloud-native tools such as AWS Systems Manager
  • Ability to work on multiple assignments or projects in parallel, balancing time and schedule based on the business priorities of the organization

Education/Certification:

  • Minimum of Bachelor’s degree, or higher, in a System Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems or other related field.
  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect Certification

Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and manage AWS services to support highly-available and scalable infrastructure operations that host high volume applications
  • Serve as the Subject-Matter Expert (SME) in automation by leading automation projects, CI/CD practices and process automation
  • Maintain and ensure the ongoing stability and continuous operations of custom-build enterprise
  • Research and prototype new FedRAMP approved products, tools, and technologies
  • Develop and maintain architecture processes and technical documentation
