CLOUD INFRASTRUCTURE ENGINEER

(Atlanta or Irvine, Full-time, Hybrid)
Fisher Phillips, a premier international labor and employment law firm, is seeking a Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to join a dynamic, forward-thinking IT team that values innovation and collaboration. As a key member of the systems and network team, the Cloud Infrastructure Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining cloud-based infrastructure solutions—primarily in Microsoft Azure. This role works closely with systems and security resources to ensure a secure, scalable, and reliable hybrid IT environment. The ideal candidate combines deep technical expertise in cloud services with practical experience in enterprise infrastructure and a strong focus on operational excellence.
Applicants must reside in either Atlanta or Irvine to be considered for this role and are required to complete our firm’s application, statement, and agreement.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in information systems, Engineering, or a related field—or equivalent professional experience in IT infrastructure, with at least 3 years of hands-on Azure experience.
  • Strong understanding of core Azure services: compute, networking, storage, security, and identity (e.g., Azure AD, NSGs, VNets, ExpressRoute).
  • Proficiency with Windows Server administration, virtualization (VMware/Hyper-V), and PowerShell scripting.
  • Familiarity with cloud monitoring, logging, and cost management tools.
  • Experience working in environments with Active Directory, hybrid identity, and Microsoft 365.
  • Occasional evening or weekend work for system maintenance or deployments.
  • Participation in a rotating on-call schedule.
Responsibilities
  • Design and implement Azure-based infrastructure solutions that integrate with firm data centers.
  • Collaborate with systems and network administrators to support hybrid workloads, directory services, virtual networks, and cloud-based security.
  • Maintain and optimize cloud resources including virtual machines, storage accounts, firewalls, and identity services.
  • Monitor system performance, security, and availability across cloud and hybrid infrastructure.
  • Participate in planning and executing cloud migrations, including lift-and-shift and modernization efforts.
  • Support patching, backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity planning in the cloud.
  • Help enforce governance, cost management, and compliance best practices in Azure.
  • Maintain documentation for architecture, processes, and system configurations.
  • Stay current with Azure platform developments and recommend improvements or emerging technologies.
