Description
This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Cloud Infrastructure Engineer in the United States. This role offers the opportunity to architect and build a scalable, secure, and efficient cloud foundation in AWS. You will design infrastructure-as-code solutions, establish reusable patterns, and create self-service platforms that empower development teams while enforcing security and compliance standards. The position emphasizes technical leadership, autonomy, and innovation, with a focus on delivering resilient, maintainable, and observable infrastructure. You will serve as a trusted advisor for cloud architecture, mentor team members, and collaborate across engineering and business stakeholders. This is a high-impact, hands-on role where your decisions will directly influence the company’s ability to scale and deliver value. Accountabilities: Design and implement AWS cloud architecture, including multi-account strategies, networking, security baselines, and environment configurations. Develop infrastructure-as-code solutions using Terraform, creating reusable modules aligned with organizational standards. Build “golden paths” for common infrastructure patterns to simplify adoption while maintaining compliance. Create self-service infrastructure tooling (CLIs, APIs, interfaces) to streamline developer workflows without sacrificing governance. Establish observability foundations with logging, metrics, and tracing for platform health and operational visibility. Automate operational tasks and maintain robust documentation to support internal teams. Serve as a technical authority on cloud infrastructure, making architecture decisions and providing guidance to engineering stakeholders. 5–8+ years of experience in infrastructure, cloud engineering, or platform roles. Deep AWS expertise, including production environment design with VPC, EC2, RDS, S3, IAM, and CloudFormation/CDK. Mastery of Terraform, including module design, state management, and multi-environment strategies. Experience building self-service infrastructure or internal developer platforms. Strong scripting or programming skills (Python, Go, Bash, or similar). Systems thinking and the ability to balance infrastructure, security, compliance, and developer experience. Autonomous problem solver with excellent judgment and the ability to communicate complex technical decisions. Product mindset: treat infrastructure as a product, prioritizing usability and developer experience. Preferred: experience in regulated industries, serverless architecture, mentoring engineers, or hybrid/multi-cloud environments (AWS primary, Azure/GCP helpful). Competitive salary (dependent on experience and location). Fully remote-first work environment in the United States. Equity participation program. Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance coverage. Paid parental leave and flexible PTO policies. Professional development and learning opportunities. Minimal bureaucracy with a high-impact, collaborative culture.
