The IT team ensures all stages of the software development lifecycle in a secured environment and scrutinizes the deployment of proper processes along with governance. EXPERIENCE YOU’LL NEED:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 10+ years of hands-on experience in a Cloud Engineering, DevOps, or Site Reliability Engineering role, with a strong focus on cloud operations.
  • Deep expertise in at least one major public cloud provider (AWS, Azure, or GCP); proficiency in multiple clouds is a significant plus.
  • Extensive experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible, or similar.
  • Strong proficiency in scripting and programming languages (e.g., Python, Go, Bash).
  • Solid understanding and practical experience with DevOps principles and CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps).
  • Demonstrated experience with containerization technologies (Docker) and orchestration platforms (Kubernetes).
  • Proven ability to design, implement, and manage robust IAM solutions and security policies within a cloud environment.
  • Experience with cloud cost management tools and strategies.
  • Familiarity with monitoring, logging, and observability tools (e.g., Sentinel, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack, Datadog, Splunk).
  • Strong knowledge of networking concepts (VPC, subnets, routing, firewalls, load balancers) in a cloud context.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with a track record of troubleshooting complex distributed systems.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively across cross-functional teams.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Understanding of managing Cloud infrastructure in FedRamp.
  • Relevant cloud certifications (e.g., AWS Certified DevOps Engineer - Professional, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, GCP Professional Cloud Architect).
  • Experience with serverless computing (e.g., AWS Lambda, Azure Functions, Google Cloud Functions).
  • Familiarity with compliance frameworks (e.g., SOC 2, ISO 27001, HIPAA, GDPR).
  • Experience working with large-scale, high-traffic production environments.
    The minimum and maximum base salaries for this role are posted below; additionally, the role is eligible for bonus potential, equity and benefits. The range displayed reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the role based on U.S. location. Within the range, the salary offered will be determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Cloud and Platform Architect to lead the architecture and implementation of resilient, secure, and scalable cloud solutions across Rubrik’s hybrid multi-cloud environment (GCP, AWS, Azure, and OCI).
As part of our Global Infrastructure & Platform Services organization, you will serve as the subject matter expert (SME) and architectural owner for multi-cloud, enabling seamless and secure service connectivity across global regions and cloud platforms.
This role combines deep technical expertise with architectural leadership, and you’ll work cross-functionally with security, platform engineering, and application teams to modernize how our services connect, scale, and operate.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  • Design , Develop and manage Cloud Native Landing Zone framework for multi cloud resource governance & Management
  • Cloud Operations & Reliability: Lead the day-to-day operations of our cloud infrastructure, ensuring high availability, performance, disaster recovery, and operational stability for both commercial and FedRamp Clouds.
  • Cloud Account & Resource Management: Oversee the lifecycle and governance of cloud accounts, organizational units, and cloud resources across our primary cloud provider(s) e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP and OCI.
  • Identity & Access Management (IAM): Design, implement, and manage robust IAM policies, roles, and access controls to enforce the principle of least privilege.
  • Cloud Security Posture Management: Develop, implement, and enforce cloud security policies, network security configurations, and data protection strategies in close collaboration with the InfoSec team.
  • Cloud Cost Optimization: Proactively monitor, analyze, and optimize cloud spending, identifying and implementing cost-saving opportunities without compromising performance or reliability.
  • DevOps & Automation: Drive DevOps initiatives by designing, building, and maintaining CI/CD pipelines, automating infrastructure provisioning, configuration management, and deployment processes.
  • Platform & Service Development: Build and maintain foundational cloud platforms and services, leveraging various backend technologies (e.g., Python, Go, Node.js, Java, etc.) to support application development teams.
  • Strategic Planning & Execution: Contribute to the development and execution of comprehensive cloud operations and security strategies, defining technical roadmaps and best practices.
  • Collaboration & Mentorship: Partner closely with Engineering (development teams), InfoSec, and other stakeholders to align on infrastructure needs, security requirements, and operational readiness. Mentor junior engineers, sharing knowledge and fostering a culture of excellence.
  • Incident Response & Troubleshooting: Provide senior-level support for cloud-related incidents, performing root cause analysis and implementing preventative measures.
  • Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for cloud architecture, operational procedures, security configurations, and automation scripts.
